Half the Allen bolts on a bike, a ute tray or a flat-pack cabinet sit somewhere awkward. A ball-end hex key solves that: the rounded tip engages the socket at an angle of up to about 25 degrees, so you can spin the screw in or out without lining the key up dead straight. Slide the key in square for the final tighten and you still get full contact on the flats.
Features
- Ball-end tips work at angles up to roughly 25 degrees — reach bolts without stripping the driver or your knuckles
- Chrome vanadium steel, forged and heat-treated for a long service life
- Black oxide finish resists rust and wipes clean after a greasy job
- Nine metric sizes: 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10 mm — the sizes that cover bicycles, furniture, engines and electronics enclosures
- Folding holder keeps every key visible at a glance and locked in place, with nothing rattling loose in the toolbox
- Long-arm / short-arm L shape — the long arm gives reach and leverage, the short arm gives maximum torque when something is seized

Good to know
Ball ends trade a little strength for access, so use the straight section for breaking loose a badly seized bolt and save the ball end for the fast turns. Wipe the keys dry before putting them away and the oxide finish will keep rust off for years.
